In another new addition to Photography Northern Ireland we want to take a look at what’s going on around the country that might give an opportunity to take some snaps this weekend. If you know of an event taking place in your area drop us a line so we can let others know. You can also drop it in by way of comment on the bottom of this post.

The road racing season continues with the Armoy Road Races. Practice and qualifying is Friday as well as the Supersport race one and full days racing is planned for Saturday. Roads close on Friday at 12.30pm and Saturday morning at 10am so get there early to find a good spot.

Annual Fiddler’s Green International Festival Rostrevor Village Co. Down.
The event features over 200 events of music, children’s activities, guided mountain walks, art exhibitions, workshops and sports.

Ulster Fleadh 2015 Dromore Co. Tyrone. The Official Opening of the Fleadh takes place on Friday 24th July featuring the All-Ireland Champions – “The Knockmore Ceili Band” giving an open-air performance at 7pm. The feature weekend of Fleadh Uladh shall see the streets come alive with music, song and dance with many lively sessions and impromptu street performances.

GI Jive Festival Kilkeel County Down. On Saturday 25th July, there will be historical re-enactments, fly past from local aircraft, walk around an authentic recreation of an American WWII camp, tanks and weapons on Mourne Esplanade, jive music, 1940s glamour and vintage fashion shows.

Dalriada Festival Glenarm Castle Co. Antrim. Events that highlight the music and food cultures of both Ireland and Scotland. Including highland games, a strongman contest, a street fair and music including Bay City Rollers, Bagatelle, Hothouse Flowers and the County Antrim Pipe Band Championships.

Foyle Cup Derry City – Youth football tournament. Saturday will see the final few teams from over 200 compete for glory.

The Waterways Ireland Riverfest, Christie Park, Coleraine Friday the 24th and Saturday the 25th of July. The event runs both days from 12:30pm to 6pm. Watersports and activities on and off the water. Thanks to Ken Cox for leting us know about this one.
